The KHEIR Center is a primary provider of critical in-language healthcare and human services support to the residents of Metro Los Angeles and its neighboring communities. We strive to accommodate underserved residents in the greater Los Angeles area regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation or income. Annually, KHEIR Center offers over 30,000 Human Services case visits, 100,000 hot meals to seniors, and 10,000 patient visits in English, Spanish, and Korean.

January 20, 2010: Cancer Detection Program (CDP) Mammogram Update

The CDP will no longer provide annual mammogram rescreenings for existing CDP patients under 50. The exceptions for women under 50 and already enrolled in CDP are:

- Women who have an abnormality detected will remain in the program until a final diagnosis is made and treatment, if needed, is started.
- Women who ended in a short term follow-up in 2009, and need a mammogram (CDP will only provide this once more).
- Women who didn’t finish a cycle in 2009 (i.e., ended in a breast exam only) and need a mammogram (CDP will only provide this once more).

KHEIR has other programs to continue to offer free mammograms for women under 55 who qualify and have a menstrual period. For more information, please call the Clinic at (213) 637-1070.

Please know our H1N1 vaccine supply is NOT affected by this recall. KHEIR patients who received the vaccine do not need to be concerned.
