| KHEIR Community Clinic Announces Expanded Hours
Now Open on Saturdays to Provide Essential Healthcare
for L.A. Residents
(LOS ANGELES, CA - July 9, 2009) - Beginning
July 11, KHEIR Center is pleased to announce the KHEIR
Community Clinic will be open on Saturdays by appointment
only. The extended hours will offer more convenience
and flexibility to Korean and Latino residents of Koreatown
and neighboring areas of Los Angeles, especially to
accommodate the busy schedules of working individuals
such as self-employed business owners. Located on the
second floor of 3727 W. 6th Street in Los Angeles, regular
weekday clinic hours are Monday through Friday from
8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and appointments are highly
recommended though not required.
As Korean Americans have one of the highest uninsured
rates overall, KHEIR Community Clinic provides health
services for many limited English speaking uninsured
or underinsured families and individuals who may not
otherwise receive medical attention. Programs offered
include Primary Care, Men's Health, Women's Health,
Prenatal Care, Pediatrics and Family Planning. The KHEIR
Community Clinic also operates an in-house dispensary
for patients, which reduces their cost for frequently
prescribed medications.
With the only full-time community clinic in the United
States that offers all services in Korean, Spanish and
English with a majority Korean patient base, KHEIR also
facilitates access to and utilization of government
and community resources by providing information and
assistance. The KHEIR Center includes two Adult Day
Healthcare Centers, a Human Services Department assisting
with enrollment in appropriate low-income insurance
programs, and a new Imaging Department offering teleradiology
services with the latest in Mammography, X-Ray and full
Dexa Bone Densitometer equipment. Annually, KHEIR provides
more than 80,000 service visits.
For more information or to schedule an appointment,
please call the Clinic at (213) 637-1070.
