| KHEIR Now Offering H1N1 Flu Vaccine

KHEIR Community Clinic Welcomes Walk-Ins and Appointments Now
(LOS ANGELES, CA - December 9, 2009) - According
to Los Angeles County public health officials, a third
wave of H1N1 flu outbreaks could still occur in January
due to an influx of visitors for the holidays. To prevent
a third wave of the H1N1 flu, federal health officials
are urging individuals to get vaccinated now.
KHEIR Center would like to announce that the KHEIR
Community Clinic has made the H1N1 flu vaccine available
to everyone in the community now. Appointments are recommended,
but not necessary. For more information, please call

The 2009 H1N1 flu (also called Swine Flu) is caused
by a new strain of influenza virus. Like other flu viruses,
2009 H1N1 spreads from person to person through coughing,
sneezing and sometimes through touching objects contaminated
with the virus. Signs of 2009 H1N1 can include: fatigue,
fever, sore throat, muscle aches, chills, coughing and
sneezing. Some people also have diarrhea and vomiting.
KHEIR will continue to update the public and media
as more H1N1 vaccine becomes available from the County
of Los Angeles Department of Health Services. Schedule
your seasonal flu vaccinations or health services for
all age groups at the KHEIR-S. Mark Taper Foundation
