Kheir Clinic Recognized “Health Center Quality Leader”; Awarded HRSA’s 2025 Community Health Quality Recognition in 5 Areas

(August 21, 2025 – Los Angeles, CA) Kheir Clinic has earned five national recognition awards from the federal government, including the Health Center Quality Leader – Silver Award, through the Community Health Quality Recognition (CHQR) program. This distinction places Kheir Clinic among the top 11 to 20 percent of health centers nationwide, highlighting its exceptional performance in clinical quality, patient outcomes, and operations excellence.

In addition to the Health Center Quality Leader award, Kheir Clinic received four other honors that reflect its commitment to expanding access, improving health outcomes, and embracing innovation:

National Quality Leader for Behavioral Health honors health centers that deliver exceptional outcomes in mental health and substance use care by meeting or exceeding national benchmarks in behavioral health clinical quality measures (CQMs).

National Quality Leader for Heart Health Access recognizes excellence in cardiovascular care, including expanding access to preventive services, improving outcomes in blood pressure control and tobacco cessation, and advancing equity in heart disease prevention.

Improving Health Care Access is awarded to health centers that have increased the total number of patients served and the number of patients who receive at least one comprehensive service (mental health, substance abuse, vision, dental. and/or enabling) by at least 5% during consecutive reporting periods.

Advancing Health Information Technology (HIT) recognizes health centers that meet all criteria to optimize HIT services, which include offering telehealth services, engaging patients through health technology systems, and collecting patient social risk factor data.

“We are honored by these recognitions, which underscore the dedication of our clinical teams to meeting the evolving needs of our diverse patient population,” said Erin Pak, CEO of Kheir Clinic. “These accolades remind us of the trust our patients place in us, and we remain committed to delivering care that respects their language, culture, and lived experience, while actively addressing the critical health challenges affecting our community.”

The CHQR program recognizes health centers nationwide that have demonstrated notable achievements in access, clinical quality, and health outcomes, based on the clinical quality measures and performance standards set by the Health Resources and Services Administration. These accomplishments support a nationwide initiative to improve health outcomes, expand access to care, and reduce health disparities. In 2024, approximately 1,400 HRSA-supported health centers operated nearly 16,200 service sites, collectively serving 32.4 million patients—the highest number in the Health Center Program’s history.

As one of Los Angeles’s first Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) serving the Koreatown neighborhood, Kheir Clinic has been recognized by HRSA in various categories since 2017 for its contributions to public health and healthcare service development. Kheir Clinic has embraced the neighborhood’s evolving demographics and offers on-site in-language services in Bengali, English, Korean, Spanish, and Thai.
